Top Dog - IYKYK kinda place. UC Berkeley students and locals alike all flock to Top Dog late night. Open until 2am, go after a Cal Basketball game!
Sol Taqueria - Molcajetes and Margs!!
Rose Pizzeria - Has that look of a pizza that you just know it’s about to be delicious.
Marugame Udon - Multiple locations, but it is always such a comforting meal. Can’t go wrong with any of the Udons. Don’t sleep on the Tempura!
Kiraku - Cool Izakaya with a variety of small plates, sashimi, and a cozy atmosphere. Wash it down with some cold beer or sake!
Tokyo Fish Market - Not a restaurant, but this is a legendary Japanese grocery store in the area. EVERYONE who grew up in the East Bay knows Cubby and the Tokyo Fish Market. The is THE stop for fresh sashimi!
Gypsy’s Trattoria Italiana - Most plates are under $15. Also open until midnight 7 days a week. UC Berkeley kids have it made!
Koja Kitchen - First started out as a food truck and tried it out at an Off The Grid event in Concord back in 2013ish. Now with multiple brick and mortar stores, Koja has come a long way. Still serving those fire BBQ short rib “burgers” on their delicious garlic rice buns!
*Eggy’s Neighborhood Kitchen - A brunch that WOWs. From their elegant plating to their top-tier breakfast / brunch menu, you will definitely want to come back to try more!
Oh G Burger - Korean smash burgers! They also serve Korean-fried chicken!
Ippudo - Started in Japan, Ippudo first made their way to New York in 2008. They expanded out to the Bay and are now in SF and Berkeley!
